As you are all aware, FCI has been facing an unprecedented storage space crunch due to heavy procurement in recent months. This situation has compelled the management to explore the option of utilizing CAP storage to accommodate the surplus stock. font-family: 

From the outset, we have expressed our serious concerns regarding this decision, highlighting the significant risks associated with CAP storage, particularly in high-rainfall regions where the chances of deterioration and damage to food grains are extremely high.

We are pleased to inform you that our concerns have been taken positively by the management. Following our strong representation, the management is actively working to avoid CAP storage as far as possible. As a result of our consistent efforts, the management has proposed to the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) to increase the allocation of food grains to states under various schemes. Additionally, FCI is exploring the option of hiring private godowns to address the storage shortage and ensure that food grains are stored under safe and secure conditions.

This is a positive development and a testament to the collective strength and determination of the FCI Employees Association (CITU). We assure you that we will continue to engage with the management and monitor the situation closely to safeguard the interests of both the organization and the employees.
