FCI Employees Protest Demanding Wage Revision

OUR SOLIDARITY TO FCI EMPLOYEES IN PUJAB REGION.THIS WILL HELP TO BREAKS CHAINS-GS FCI EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (CITU)

FCI EA CITU: 10-12-2018: FCI Employees Association (CITU) wants FCI management to stop punishment, victimization against the FCI employees for taking part in the duly notified ‘work-to-rule’ programme on demand of Wage-Revision & other long pending issues. On call of Association, FCI Employees from various corners expressed their solidarity to the FCI employees, who have been victimized by regional management in Punjab for taking part in the Work to Rule program.   General Secretary FCI Employees Association (CITU) conveyed that the FCI Employee is going through a tough period. Victimization against any employee must be combated unhesitantly in an outright manner. We know they are from other unions. However, we consider that our permanent enemies are the anti-employees, anti-working class policy of FCI management and Government of India.  We have high doubt about the FCI Management stand. Are they trying to implement the 2014 saffron manifesto where it is proposed to trifurcate Food Corporation of India?.FCI bureaucrat officials must stop this; else FCI Employees Association (CITU) will take up these issues in parliament.

They are well aware that the Food Corporation of India is running its operations with below 45% staff and labour strength. The productivity and turnover per employee also increased five times more compared to 2007. It is due to the hard work and sincere efforts of Category III &IV Employees. But FCI employees are being paid with meagre financial benefits,  12 years over, our legitimate wage revision is due w.e.f 1-1-2017. Work to rule agitation is a peace full way of agitation.

Consequent on work to rule agitation, the day to day operations of FCI as well as PDS operations all over India was badly affected. As far as FCI day to day operations are concerned, FCI facing acute shortage of staff strength which is below 45 % (approx). Thus, FCI cannot perform its field operations without Overtime/Holiday posting of Category III &IV employees. The FCI Management intentionally created problematic situations to destroy the image of Food Corporation of India among public and parliament instead of settling the legitimate demands. Today, they had transferred the employees in Punjab with an aim to sabotage work to rule agitation as well as to destroy the industrial peace in Punjab region. Today Punjab..Tomorrow it may be happed to any other employees of other regions. We must stop this victimization, all employee must join hands against this. Else when they victimize you or me there will be no one left to protest or speak. In Punjab many quantities of Food grains are in open places, hence such intentional approach to destroy the industrial harmony will definitely help the Private parties as well as the corporate groups who always wish to see the fall of FCI. We have high doubt about the bureaucratical approach towards legitimate demands of FCI category III-IV Employees. They are well aware that the demands are genuine. But, intentionally they are creating problems.

ENHANCE THE IR AMOUNT TO A MINIMUM OF 5000/- RUPEES - FCI EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (CITU)

ENHANCE THE IR AMOUNT TO A MINIMUM OF 5000/- RUPEES

FCI EA CITU 4-12-18: The General Secretary of FCI Employees Association (CITU) Wrote letter to Shri Syedain Abbasi IAS, the new C&MD, Food Corporation of India to enhance the IR amount to a minimum of 5000 and demanded immediate WAGE SETTLEMENT for Category III & IV Employees. Association in its letter heartily welcomed the new Chairman & Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India. We wished every success for new responsibilities of Shri Syedain Abbasi IAS. Association also assured all possible cooperation as and when so needed.

Further, General Secretary conveyed that In recent days, we have witnessed that there is a growing concern among the Category III & IV Employees due to inordinate delay in wage revision, illegal Show-Cause notices issued to the employees for taking part in the duly notified ‘work-to-rule’ programme on demand of Wage-Revision & other long pending issues, unilateral release of Interim relief in ongoing negotiation and illogical ‘boycott of IR’ campaign of some leadership with threats of dire consequences.

GS of FCI Employees Association also registered their strong protest against the release of a small amount of IR at this juncture without showing any positive attitude to settle the Wage Revision issue of unionised Cat.III & IV Employees in right perspective when the non-unionised Cat. I & II have already got their wage revised from 01.01.2017. It is a matter of grave concern that even after 8 rounds of wage negotiations held so far, not much headway could be made as there is a wide gap between the wage hike demand and what is on offer. However, since new the CMD have just taken over the charge, we, as a token of courtesy, have decided to accept the IR (Interim Relief) ON PROTEST and at the same time urged to enhance the IR amount to a minimum of 5000/- Rupees.

Also, in the backdrop of the State and general elections, FCI Employees Association requested to new CMD to take all positive steps to complete the wage negotiations at the earliest in a fruitful manner. So that the entire process and the formalities thereafter can be wrapped up well before the Model Code of Conduct for the general elections kicks-in.
