 False Propaganda Against FCI Must Stop: FCI Employees Association (CITU) The FCI Employees Association (CITU), in a statement, has stated that certain media reports targeting the godowns and employees of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in connection with the alleged illegal transportation of rice bags in Aleppy district of Keralam are baseless and contrary to facts. The Association clarified that the alleged incident, in which rice bags were reportedly transported in one lorry and transferred to another vehicle, has no connection whatsoever with FCI godowns or its employees. The Association believes that the incident may be related to godowns or distribution channels under the State Government, including NFSA/Supplyco. However, linking FCI to such incidents without verifying the facts or conducting a proper investigation would only tarnish the reputation of the institution and its employees. The Association strongly condemns such attempts to deliberately malign a public sector institution and its employees, who work tirelessly to ensure the food security of the nation. The media must verify the relevant facts thoroughly before publishing news and ensure responsible reporting. The Association urged the media to refrain from spreading misleading information and to issue necessary corrections immediately wherever false information has been published. The FCI Employees Association (CITU) appealed to the media to refrain from spreading factually incorrect reports that create public misunderstanding about FCI, a Central Public Sector Undertaking that plays a vital role in providing relief and ensuring food security for the people. The Association also stressed the importance of responsible journalism in safeguarding the credibility of the institution and the dignity and self-respect of its employees.
